A short is where filmmakers get to be exact about their vision, and finding the actor who does something with your script you didn't expect is genuinely fun work.
Every short starts with a concept call about who these characters are and what the film needs tonally, with input from the whole creative team, director, writer and producers.
From there, the role goes out to agents and managers, plus a social casting call and direct outreach to talent reps when it helps.
The average role brings in 800 to 1200 submissions. I go through all of them, yes all, watch every self-tape that comes back, and narrow it into a curated list of real options. Callbacks, producer sessions, and chemistry reads run live or virtual, whatever the production needs.
Once the right person's clear, I handle the offer and negotiation start to finish, keeping every role within budget and closed on schedule.
